Biography

Pianist Neringa Valuntonytė stands out for her unpretentious, sincere, and deeply personal interpretations, continually expanding her audience through a versatile repertoire that bridges both traditional and contemporary music. Driven by a desire for individuality and self-expression, she transcends the conventional boundaries of a piano recital, transforming it into a space for storytelling, artistic experimentation, and profound emotional experience. Her performances reveal an exploration of human identity and self-reflection, further enriched by creative audiovisual elements. Neringa has performed across stages in Germany, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Austria, and Lithuania, presenting both solo and chamber music programs. She has appeared with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, the Vilnius University Chamber Orchestra, the Panevėžys Musical Theatre Symphony Orchestra, the Lviv Chamber Orchestra “Akademia,” and the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. She has collaborated with conductors such as Modestas Jankūnas, Martynas Bražas, Vidmantas Kapučinskas, Ihor Pylatiuk, Christian Frattima, Modestas Barkauskas, and Maria Sydor. Neringa's artistic pursuits go beyond performance. In 2025, she earned an Art Doctorate in Music with her project “Creating an Academic Musician's Persona: From Stage to Personal Brand.” Her artistic research continues to focus on the pianist’s identity and self-discovery, forming the conceptual foundation for her recitals, such as The Waiting, (In)complete, and In the Loop. In 2019, she was awarded Third Prize at the VIIIth International M. K. Čiurlionis Piano and Organ Competition, where she performed Maurice Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Modestas Pitrėnas. Neringa pursued her musical education at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she earned her Art Doctorate in Music in 2025. She completed her Master’s studies in 2020 at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media under Prof. Ewa Kupiec, following her Bachelor’s studies in 2017 at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre under Prof. Aleksandra Žvirblytė.
